Resume: Cory Levy

I am a young entrepreneur from Houston, Texas.  Because I am still in high school, I have not had much work experience, so this resume outlines my accomplishments, skills, and knowledge.
I am seeking an internship where I can gain business knowledge and experience, and add some value with my unique insights and point of view.

•    I am tenacious in pursuit of a goal.  In elementary school, I had to write a report on a famous person.  I selected Steven Spielberg and instead of researching him through books and the internet, I decided to interview him on the phone.  I reached his assistant in LA who referred me to New York, where I was referred back to LA, and finally I reached his voicemail. (I am still waiting for a call back today :))

•    I am a strong competitor.  I have been a tournament tennis player since age 6, and have competed successfully throughout Texas and elsewhere in the US.

•    I understand money and finance.  At age 10, I became interested in the stock market most likely because my father is a stockbroker.  I researched and invested $1000 in Dell Computer stock.  A few years later, I sold it at its market high, doubling my money.

•    I have gained business knowledge, both theoretical and practical.  I have learned from many books and spoke with many people in the business field.  For instance, my grandfather, an attorney, taught me about contracts.  I have made contacts with entrepreneurs such as Mark Cuban, Pierre Omidyar, Jawed Karim, and James Hong, who have all given me insight into creating successful businesses.

•    I know how to build solid business relationships.  When the professional tennis tournaments came to Houston, I was chosen to be a ball boy.  I built relationships with players, parents, agents, and coaches, including Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer, and Andre Agassi.  I created a Facebook profile and made about 600 “friends,” people who have given me advice, contacts, and encouragement.  A writer from Fortune contacted me about my successful use of a Facebook profile for business purposes.

•    I know how to monetize business relationships, and how to build a business.  The tennis players autographed memorabilia for me to sell on eBay.  After that I started to buy and sell items on eBay, branching out to other sports memorabilia.  In May 2007, I created a business plan for a stealth start-up, have begun building an advisory board, and am now working on building a beta site.
